Tuition Requirements

The total cost of a NBTN apprenticeship- including all curriculum and training materials, station/mentor placement research, mentor/instructor compensation, and in-station training - is $4995.

Student loans are available to qualified applicants and monthly payments can be easily tailored to fit most students' needs.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

CASH PAYMENT - $4995.00 tuition paid-in-full is due upon formal acceptance and prior to beginning your training.

STUDENT LOANS -Tuition financing is available through Sallie Mae Financial and other lenders.

They'll work with you to arrange a monthly payment plan designed to fit your financial needs and capabilities.

ALTERNATIVE RESOURCES - In addition to our affordable financing programs, we recommend that you take a moment to consider alternative resources that you may not realize are available to you. Taking the time to evaluate all of your options and tapping into alternative resources, if available, will help you save money in the long run.

We’ve provided some suggestions below. However, please check with the appropriate agencies, your financial planner, and/or your tax advisor regarding how these resources apply to you.

• Employee Reimbursement Programs -- Check with your employer’s human resources office for employee benefits that will cover all or a portion of your education. You might even find out that completing your education will also provide opportunities for a promotion within your company!
• Home Equity Loans -- If you own property, you may have equity to tap into. Typically, home equity loans come in the form of refinancing your current mortgage with "cash out" or home equity lines of credit. Check with your current home mortgagor, credit union, or bank to explore this possibility.
• Retirement Plan Policy Loans -- If you have a retirement plan such as a 401k or 403b, chances are it includes a provision to borrow a policy loan without having to qualify or pay taxes on the amount you are eligible to borrow. Check with your plan provider or your employer’s human resources office for details about this possibility.
• Life Insurance Policy Loans -- Life insurance policies, especially whole life policies, often have provisions which include the ability to borrow a policy loan. Check with your life insurance agent.

REFUND POLICY — An applicant may cancel up to five business days after signing the Enrollment Agreement. In the event of a dispute over timely notice the burden to prove rests on the applicant. If a student cancels after the fifth calendar day but before starting training, NBTN may keep a registration fee of one hundred and fifty dollars. If the BroadcastPRO equipment package has been sent to student, it is agreed that it is non-refundable and NBTN may retain an additional $250. After training begins and until the student completes half the total number of lessons in the program, NBTN is entitled to keep the registration fee, the BroadcastPRO equipment fee - $250 -, and a percentage of the total tuition as follows according to the number lessons turned in: 0%-10%=10%, 11%-25%=25%, 26%-50%=50%, 50%+=100%.
