Broadcasters Training Education Mission Statement

Broadcasting Radio from Satellite

The broadcasting signals from the world's 30,000 radio stations cover every square inch of our planet, and the hearts and minds of millions and millions of our peoples. Radio's impact on individual lives is immeasurable. A world without radio is unimaginable.

Even today, in a world of cyberspace and global communications, radio's reach remains unchallenged. Day-in and day-out, radio announcers' voices inform and entertain virtually every man, woman, and child in the civilized world--over 99% of the Earth's population! And yet, despite radio's immense power, it has always been the people, the individual announcers working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with personalities and styles as different as the colors of the rainbow, that make radio so special.

The 12,000 radio stations in North America alone employ over 150,000 on-air personnel. The Broadcasters Training Network represents thousands of these working professionals at radio stations from coast to coast, who want to lend their knowledge and experience to train and mold the next generation of broadcasters, to take an aspiring student "under their wing" in certain belief that radio is taught best by working professionals, and most importantly, in real operating radio stations.

The Broadcasters Training Network serves its industry as a kind of supplier, connecting a motivated student apprentice with a local seasoned pro who's interested in teaching. Together, we're helping to feed radio's constant, all-consuming search for on-air talent, its ever-changing need for humor and intelligence, for credibility and authority, for zaniness and outrageousness, for something…"new."

Who knows, maybe it's you! If you're considering a career in broadcasting, we invite you to stick around and explore our web site, and learn why this employment-oriented, one-on-one training is the most realistic, most successful way to break into the broadcast industry.
